When there are no signs of gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, we can perform a regular cleaning to maintain the health of your teeth and gums
Also known as scaling and root planning, this is necessary in the treatment of periodontal disease. A deep cleaning refers to our skilled hygienists going below the gum line to remove harmful bacteria and tartar that is causing inflammation and damage to your gums. If left untreated, you will begin to notice recession of your gums and mobility of your teeth. Let us help you prevent the damages of periodontal disease!
X-rays are necessary for us to be effective in diagnosing bone loss, tooth infection and decay found between the teeth. A full set of x-rays (which includes about 18 images) is required every 5 years and X-rays of your bite (about 6 images) are required once a year. These images are important for us to catch disease in the early stages so that we can help you prevent advancement of the disease or else treat it when necessary
In our clinical exams, we first start with a head and neck examination. This screening is important for us to diagnose abnormal findings that could be life saving for you. Next, we are looking for signs of decay, fracturing of teeth and malocclusion. You may not always feel pain with the mentioned above, but our goal is to treat disease early on and prevent dental emergencies. There is no reason to wait for a problem to grow larger!
Are you in pain? Broke a tooth? Gums are bleeding or swollen? Crown came off? Do not hesitate and call our office immediately. We will try to see you the same day to address any dental concerns or pain.
